LMP has just signed a contract with Mrs. Alice Kemmer to publish a large batch of works by Jean-Pierre Kemmer. He was a multifaceted character, a very talented musician who successfully handled everything he got in touch with. As a pianist, he was also timpanist for RTL’s symphony orchestra, a long-time composer and choral conductor.
His style of composition was much more “popular” than that of a René Mertzig eg, we find influences of jazz, pop music of the time, but it’s funny well written. His catalog as well includes an oratorio, a mass, symphonic and concertante works as instrumental and chamber music, and numerous compositions and arrangements for choir. He’s part of our heritage!
