Born in 1965 in Tokyo, Osamu Yaguchi began studying the violin at the age of 3. At the age of 10, he obtained the 1st Prize of the Musical Competition of the Students of Japan. At 14, he entered the National Conservatory of Music in Paris in the class of Michèle Auclair. In 1983, he successively obtained his 1st Prize for violin, 1st Prize for chamber music at the CNSMP, and the 1st Grand Prize at the 2nd Carl Nielsen International Competition in Odense, Denmark. Soloist of the Luxembourg Philharmonic, he founded the Quatuor de Luxembourg in 1998 and composed a large number of pieces for this group, ranging from classical to Irish folk tunes.
